You are the father that lets go of the bike so the child will ride on their own.

You are the mother who is there with kisses and Band-Aids when we fall.

You are the warm blanket on chilly nights.

You are the magnificent frost on the window pane.

You are the invitation to more.

You are the provider to those who have lost it all.

You are trust and fear.

You are the high wire and the net.

You are the kayak and the rapids.

You are complete, you are whole.

You encourage me to go where I never thought I’d go-
